The Coming of Joy

After the fall of man, as a result of the sins of Adam and Eve who chose to trust the devil rather than God, sadness filled the earth (Genesis 3). Cases of murder - note Cain, who killed out of envy (Genesis 4:1-8) - hatred, deceit and war have been multiplying.

Man's helplessness has become so apparent that those who cannot stand it have been taken to suicide. God, in  His mercies, nevertheless intervened through a sacrificial gift of joy - Jesus the saviour. John 3:16 says "for God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life."

With Jesus Christ, joy came to the world to drive away the hopelessness for as many as believe Him irrespective of tribe hence Luke 2:10-11 says, "and the angel said unto them; fear not, behold I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David, a saviour which is Christ the Lord." John 10:10 says that " the thief cometh not but for to steal, kill and destroy, but I am come that they might have life and have it abundantly." He was manifested to destroy the works of the devil.

This gift of joy is available today if you are ready to embrace Christ as your Lord and Saviour. If your response to this invitation is yes, then take the following steps:

  1. Acknowledge that you are a sinner (Romans 3:23).
  2. Acknowledge the fatal consequences of sin, which is death (Romans 6:23).
  3. Genuinely repent of your sins and forsake them.
  4. Surrender your life to Christ as your Lord and Saviour.

The joy of the Lord shall indeed be your strength, in Jesus name. AMEN!
